ASR Library is built by and for the community. There are many ways to help make ASL content accessible.

Submit Videos (Everyone)

Time commitment: A few minutes

Requirements: None - no account needed

The simplest way to help is submitting videos that need transcripts. If you find valuable ASL content that should be accessible to the DeafBlind community, submit it to our catalog.

Time commitment: Flexible - transcribe as many or as few videos as you'd like

Requirements: ASL comprehension, good writing skills

Contributors create transcripts for videos in our catalog. You can choose which videos to work on and which transcript style to create.

You can transcribe manually or use AI tools to assist. We welcome AI-assisted transcriptions as long as they're reviewed and edited by humans for accuracy.

How to Apply

Contributor registration is currently invite-based to ensure quality. To apply:

  1. Email us at contact@asrlibrary.org
  2. Tell us about your ASL background and experience
  3. We'll review your application and send an invite

Become a Steward

Time commitment: A few hours per week

Requirements: Strong ASL knowledge, experience in the Deaf community

Stewards are trusted community members who review and verify transcripts before publication. This is a key role in ensuring quality.
